Meet our BC farmers & suppliers
At TAMA, we want to be the bridge that connects small independent BC farmers with those in the city. Every year, we go and visit each of our farmers that supply us – we learn from them, we hear how the season is looking, and we continue to build up our relationships.
Umi Nami Farm
Nestled in a shallow valley in Metchosin, BC on the island, Umi Nami Farm has been specializing in growing organic Japanese produce for nearly three decades. Tama Organic has a long history with Umi Nami Farm. Their Daikon with leaves was so special from day one; it left an impression on us and on customers!
We continue to be blown away by the produce that comes from this farm. You can taste the difference!
During their season of harvest, you can expect HUGE daikon with greens, mizuna, komatsuna, baby bok choy, wasabina, endomame, Japanese eggplants, Japanese cucumbers etc!

Parson’s Farm – Keremeos, BC
If you have driven the scenic route to the Okanagan taking hwy 3, you have likely come across Parson’s farm stand. This family run farm is the longest running organic farm in the region. Tama’s history with this farm goes far back too (…maybe a few decades!) and we are grateful for the continued relationship!
Highlights from Parson’s Farm includes: kabocha squash, cantaloupe melons, peaches, cherries, apricots, nectarines, garlic, peppers, and more!

Eco not Ego Farm
Cawston, BC
When a farmer’s diet consists of their own produce, you KNOW it’s good! Everything that comes from their fields to our store has been taste tested and approved! The Cawston region is a fertile area that is ideal for a variety of crops, and this farm fully embraces that with delicious crops including their famously sweet seeded Watermelons, zucchini’s, cherries and more…!

Cedar Isle Farm – Agassiz, BC
The Agassiz region is well known for its fertile lands rich in silt loam – an extremely ideal soil situation. We first got introduced to Cedar Isle Farm, a small family run farm, through Yoshi, a Japanese farmer who was leasing their land to grow some incredible produce and their delicious cold-rolled oats.
Thanks to Yoshi, we grew our relationship with the farm too; nowadays run by their daughter, Hannah. Hannah’s caring energy translates into the crop she grows. Her Savoy Cabbage are a sweet treat in the dead of winter. Her baby kale is so tender it will make you change everything you know about kale!

Cap Canopy Mushrooms

Located minutes away from Tama, these are your ‘go-to’ guys for gourmet mushrooms! Cap Canopy is run by a couple of fungi lovers – dedicated in using organic substrates, high quality strains of mushrooms, and the freshest harvest!
Try something new like fresh Lion’s Mane or a familiar classic with an exotic twist like Pink and Golden Oyster Mushrooms!
