Osechi is a traditional meal prepared for New Year's celebration. Each item has specific symbolism to welcome in the new year. Traditionally, the women of the family will spend several days preparing this intricate meal allowing them all of January 1st to relax and unwind with the family.
So this is a special time of year for many Japanese families. We hope you can enjoy this tradition too !

ALL OSECHI ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP DEC. 31 BETWEEN 10am - 2pm
(Tama's Bento will NOT be available during this time: Dec 26th - Jan 3)
Our Osechi's are still made using majority organic ingredients with the exception of specific traditional food items like fish, fish roe, or lotus root. We do our best to source organic ingredients while balancing customs & traditions of osechi dishes. We also offer vegan and non-vegan options!
We take orders early December and will share more details of the menu and size options. Traditionally, each Osechi is for 3 people served in 3 layer 'Jubako' boxes. For those who have their own Jubako, we will prepare your osechi in them. And for those who do not have a Jubako, our wonderful customers let us borrow these special boxes so others can enjoy their meal in a traditional box. We kindly ask each of these are returned to us so we can in turn return them back to their rightful owners.
